A lovely traditional Finnish style cardigan by Ronja Hakaletho. She found inspiration for the beautiful colourwork pattern from a Finnish design company Tapettitehdas and their Lintu Sininen Wall paper. Lintu Sininen means Blue Bird in Fininsh.

This cardigan is constructed top down and worked in the round. You cast on for the neckline, work the yoke, divide for sleeves and put the stitches on hold before completing the body. You then pick up the live stitches to work the sleeves. Finally you do the opening steek, and pick up stitches to work the button bands.

The Blue Bird Cardigan is designed for using Tukuwool DK, spun and dyed in Finland from 100% Finnsheep and Finnsheep/Texel breeds. The Tukuwool DK represents sustainable local production at its best and the result is a wholesome, hearty and plump yarn that runs smoothly across your needles and will result in your most favourite knitwear. Woollen spun Finnsheep wool is characterised by its warmth and airy feel, soft, still rustic to the touch.

Sizes XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL): Measurements given are for the finished garment with a finished bust circumference of 95 (103, 111, 119, 129, 138, 148, 157)cm / 37.5 (40.5, 43.75, 46.75 50.75, 54.25, 58.25, 61.75)”, recommended positive ease is 10 – 13cm / 4 – 5”.
