Yarn Kit - Meadow Wrap - KAL with Dee Hardwicke
Due to POPULAR DEMAND we have more lovely John Arbon Knit by Numbers coming in and we are wrapping up our kits as quickly as we can to send them to you. Please be aware there is some extended waiting time for your kit to be in the post.
Together with designer extraordinaire Dee Hardwicke we've come up with a magical fall adventure celebrating her new design, made in the wonderful yarns of John Arbon, what more could one wish for!
Exclusively released for our knit-a-long, join us in making this wonderfully lush wrap - The Meadow! The inspiration behind Dee's gorgeous Meadow Wrap is a meadow filled with wild flowers and grasses that Dee came across unexpectedly one day and couldn't resist sketching. Dee describes the strong vertical lines in the design as having a contemporary energy, and the pattern has an intuitive, rhythmic quality that makes it so lovely to knit.
The pattern instructions include both a small and a larger version of this yumminess for you to wrap up in during the colder season. Meadow is completely huggable! Measurements are:
Large version, 218cm/86in across bottom edge and 112cm/44in tall at deepest point.
Small version, 147cm/58in across bottom edge and 75cm/30in tall at deepest point.
The wrap is knitted in John Arbon 100% organically farmed Falklands Merino Knit by Numbers DK yarn. Dee describes knitting as being similar to painting in yarn, with each stitch becoming a brushstroke of colour. As Dee explains, 'this John Arbon yarn is a dream to knit with, and as an artist I find the colour palette irresistible!' Dee has knitted her Meadow wrap in a palette called Orchids, one of the palettes created by Dee specially for Knit with Attitude's KAL. Each swatch beautifully illustrated through Dee's watercolours. A compact tension gives the wrap an almost woven feel that emphasises the geometric design, while the density of the knit creates a wonderful weight, ensuring that the wrap drapes beautifully.
Our KAL includes loads of social fun and support, we'll meet through zoom parties and a virtual knit night, as well as a dedicated Ravelry group. All you have to do to join in is to buy your Meadow Yarn Kit and everything else will be accomodated for.
We're casting on Friday October 29th, and we'll knit together until our Cast Off Party Friday November 19th.
The kits contain the pattern (provided via email) and all the yarn you need to complete your very own Meadow Wrap in your chosen size. In addition you will need 100cm circulars in 3.25mm and 3.5mm.
Where the pattern calls for 100g or more in one colour we have done our very best to provide full 100g hanks, however this is not guaranteed.
There might be a small difference in nuance between each kit, all kits still corresponding with their colour palettes.
Dee Hardwicke has informed us that the meterage requirements of yarn used and listed in the pattern does not give much leeway, Knit with attitude is not allowed to sell individual mini hanks, however should you need more they can be purchased directly from John Arbon.
