Juniper Moon Farm
As a concept Juniper Moon Farm is based on clear ethical, sustainable principals, both in terms of the sourcing of raw materials and production methods. Susan Gibb who started the company on her own farm with her own sheep still insists these fundamental principals are adhered to regardless of how the business has grown both in size and popularity. All wools for example come from farms operated under the auspices of the Australian Wool Board, whose vets supervise all aspects of animal husbandry. All cotton yarns are GOTS certified, guaranteeing ethical and fair trade treatment of workers and the environment. The Alpacas are sourced from one company in Peru ( a family of English origin ) who for four generations have taken care of every process from rearing and caring for Alpacas on their own traditional farms, right through to the finished ball of yarn. To sum up the whole ethos of the Juniper Moon Farm brand is to produce yarns that are beautiful, different and at the same time ethical and sustainable.
