Patchwork Apron Making Workshop with Lola Lely Studio
Join Lola Lely for the day, Saturday September 9th, making your very own apron using patchwork and boro fabric techniques. This workshop begins with a introduction into the history of patchwork, boro textiles and workwear. You will then be given guidance and instructions on how to design and construct your own patchwork apron made from cloth dyed at the previous workshop - Natural Dye Workshop. Fabrics to use will be provided for those not attending the Natural Dye workshop. For students attending both workshops we have a special price of £70 for this workshop, the £30 difference will be refunded to you when signing up for both workshops. You will learn how to employ simple basic stitching techniques to connect your patchwork. No sewing machines will be used at the workshop. We are going completely analogue! Some decorative stitching and applique techniques will also be taught to embellish pockets, corners etc. The workshop lasts for a whole day, from 10am to 16.30pm - with a break for lunch and social conversation. All participants will be emailed a detailed pdf workshop guide on beforehand.
