Learn to Bind a Knitter's Journal - Sunday 1st September
In this workshop you will bind your very own Knitter’s Journal. You will learn all the skills you need to make a multi-section soft cover exposed spine book, using the French Link Stitch method.
Each student will choose from a selection of printed and plain papers to build up their own personal journal. Pages are made up of: handy Knitter’s facts, useful gauge measurements, project journal pages, knitters graph paper, useful pocket pages for holding notions or patterns and much more. The choice is up to you. These pages are then collated and bound by hand with step by step instruction provided by the tutor.
No bookbinding experience is necessary but a good eye for folding paper is always useful. A sharp bookbinders needle and awl are also used. Materials and equipment are provided for the workshop and each student will leave with their own A5 Journal with at least 112 pages. Students are also welcome to bring in their own A4 papers if they wish to also bind them into their journal.
This workshop is part of our Great London Yarn Crawl 2019 programme, £5 per yarn crawler that signs up for the workshop will be donated to GLYC's chosen charity Refuge.
