Raincloud & Sage
Unspun
The limited edition Unspun 2109 is a blend of 100% wool (Merino, Bergschaf, Milchschaf, Gotland), sourced completley through the Raincloud & Sage mill in Bavaria. This is a soft and squishy pre-yarn which means the fiber has been carded but no twist has been added. This batch comes in one undyed colorway: Cirrus (charcoal grey).
Unspun's twist-free strands and unique fibreblend make up a rare and high-quality yarn which creates the most wholehearty and characterful fabric when knit up. Once knit, the yarn becomes strong, very hardwearing, whilst magically maintaining its airiness and bounce. You can knit with this yarn however you like - held single, held double or with a strand of another fiber (such as mohair or alpaca). Under 'specifications' below, tension and needle size has been given for a range when working with both single and double strands. Holding the yarn double will greatly increase the durablility of the yarn as well as the ease of the knitting experience.
This yarn is sustainably made, which at R&S means that it is an eco-friendly, biodegradable (non-superwash & nylon-free) wool yarn, produced as locally as possible with care to reduce the environmental impact in every way they can.
