Knit with Attitude
iKnit7 Hilja Mitts KAL Kit
Aleks named these long wrist warmers after her grandmother who was a masterful knitter. A discovery of a little booklet with motifs she had created and copied from traditional patterns back in 1930s Estonia inspired these embroidered looking wrist warmers. This is a wonderful project introducing you to the Estonian inlay technique called “Roosimine”, and as our KAL is all about coming together and community, there will be several opportunities for virtual social gatherings including a Facebook Live hosted by Aleks to help with any questions along the way, and of course we’re having a grand Show & Tell party at the end of our KAL. Make sure you are signed up to the iKnit7 newsletter, buy your kit, and you will automatically get invited to all the shenanigans!!!
Grab a kit and then come join us for the live Zoom Cast On Party at 8pm on Friday 19th February.
Need a little helping hand? Designer Aleks Byrd will be demonstrating techniques during a FB Livestream on Monday 22nd Feb, and you can ask questions at any time in the official KAL Facebook group.
We'll also be having a "Show Us Your Mitts" Zoom get-together at the end of the KAL on Friday 5th March.
