Leaves, barks and flowers leave wonderful imprint on premordanted fabrics with this simple technique. The pictured ecoprinted fabrics are a sample of what you could probably achieve. Also a very lovely handcrafting technique to do with children.
This natural dye kit contains:
+ two fat quarter (ca. 50 cm x 70 cm) pieces of vintage/reclaimed cotton and/or linen fabric
+ 200 gr (7.2 oz) of dried plant material like walnut husks, madder root, birch leaves, hollyhock flowers...
+ Tannin (oak gall powder)
+ alum
+ washing soda
+ piece of copper
+ piece of steel wool
+ dye instructions
You will further need a stainless steel pot, some vessel, a scale, vinegar, and a stick and something to stir with. This is not part of the dye kit. All items you will need are listed in the dye instructions.
