Pom Pom Quarterly – Issue 29: Summer 2019
Pom Pom is a quarterly, collectable publication based in London UK, for smart, creative types who like knitting patterns with a modern aesthetic, great photography and interesting writing. Pom Pom is also into lots of other types of crafts and of course music, fashion, art, food and just generally making the world a little more beautiful with the things to make!
Pom Pom was set up in 2012 by Lydia Gluck and Meghan Fernandes. They knew (like you probably do!) that knitting is super-cool, but based on the way knitting was presented in the media, they felt it didn’t always look super-cool to the naked eye. So, backed by their amazingly talented army of friends who also happen to be designers, writers, photographers and all-around wonderful people, they got started making a magazine, hoping to present knitting and craft in the best possible light!
The nine designs featured in Issue 29 are inspired by ceramic tiles, terracotta, and sand, so expect earthy shades with splashes of colour and organic, repeating patterns. For your summer wardrobe, there are essential tops and tees, a cardigan, a shawl, and a crochet bag - all light and breezy for warmer days.
Also, Pom Pom Issue 29 introduces a few changes to this much loved publication, to make it even better! More pages have been added to the magazine, meaning more room for the gorgeous photography you love, an increased font size, and a wider range of sizes for some patterns (with the aim for all patterns in the near future).
The magazine includes designs by: Marjorie Martin, Sari Nordlund, Isa Catepillán, Soraya García, Stephanie Earp, Amy Christoffers, Rachael Reese, Josée Paquin and Clare Lakewood.
