I just couldn't resist some Vivacious colour combos...

Like the title of this blog post says I just couldn't resist some Vivacious colour combinations. Since we had a big restock of Fyberspates Vivacious and the new Vivacious Botanical I have kept taking them off the wall and laying them next to each other in all sorts of combinations. Every day I come in lay out a new pairing, stare at it and dream. So I thought I would share with you my slight mad obsession I have had this week.

Vivacious is a dreamy high twist superwash merino base and with this post I am focusing on Vivacious 4ply and Botanical 4ply. This beautiful yarn really needs no introduction but here is one anyway. Springy and strong at 365m/399yds. The hand dyed variegated shades have a depth to them that is one of Fyberspates special traits, creating a yarn that would make even the most simple projects look stunning. It's great for everything from head to toe but also soft next to the skin. That's why we were beyond excited when Fyberspates introduced the botanical range which applies the Fyberspates colour style to a naturally dyed yarn.

Because we have the two differently dyed Vivacious yarns I have been dreaming of projects that combine the two. So this post just explores that idea by combining a Vivacious 4ply with a Vivacious Botanical. In each group of pairings I have moved the contrast skein along one giving twenty five different colour combos within this group of five. They start more complimentary and move into more contrasting combinations. I have put a visual next to each combination giving you a sense of how the colours might interact in a project, (click the image to see a bigger view). You might want to chose colours that compliment each other if you are going for a fade or gradient theme. Or you might want to choose colours that contrast well if you are thinking of a colourwork project where you want the pattern to be really defined. Even though this is just a handful of combinations I think the Botanical range works well with the Vivacious 4ply and nearly all of them go. Some in predictable ways but others in more surprising ones. I have to say it would be a hard choice for me just to pick one.
