Colour Inspiration - Growth

I'm continuing with my colour inspiration posts with the idea of not looking at a particular colour but having a particular theme to guide me. Next up in the series is Growth. As summer's warmth helps gardens and parks come alive with an abundance of green. After looking at Sunrise and Sunset and also Rainy Days, Growth seems like the perfect continuation. There are so many variations on greens in nature so this post explores green. Imagine yourself walking through a dark forest or sunbathing on the lush green grass in your local park.

I like to include an image I have taken that illustrates my inspiration for colour picking and I couldn't choose one. Two of these images were taken last year and one this year. The one on the left was taken in London's St James Park, which is just by Buckingham Palace. The one on the middle is from the flower borders of Bateman's the once home of Rudyard Kipling in Sussex. The one on the right is from Sydenham Hill Woods near where I live in South London. I love a walk through a well manicured garden or a wild woodland and this time of year is perfect for immersing yourself in nature.

My instant thought for projects inspired by nature is texture, texture, texture. Climbing vine like cables or curvy and zig-zag leaf edges and projects that combine various greens together to create a depth of colour.
