We Can Do It!
Keep Knitting with Attitude!
I'm on the sofa today still trying to catch my breath following the whirlwind that was our grand re-opening yesterday. We were so touched by those of you who came to celebrate with us in person or who sent messages via email and through our social media. Thank you! When you’ve been on a journey or a big project and mired in the weeds of it all there’s no greater relief than to emerge and find that people are as excited for you as you hoped they’d be! You’ve all exceeded our expectations for the expansion of the shop and we’re so grateful for our community.
If you popped into the shop on the weekend you may have noticed a few changes, the biggest (aside from the expansion) is that we have a new look for the Knit With Attitude logo! Logos and branding have changed a lot in the 13 years since we started the shop and ours was around from the very beginning – and well before online shopping was as mainstream as it is now. The Knit With Attitude logo then of a basket and globe spoke to our intention to sell yarns and products that were good for the planet and the people of the world.
Our ethos as a brand has evolved over the years to focus on the individual: the attitudes that lead to empowerment, the expressions of our opinions, the confidence that comes from both and how many voices together can effect change. Designer and illustrator Aleks Byrd created a fantastic logo for our 10 year anniversary that spoke to that brand evolution and with all the changes happening in the shop we decided we’d go with one more and adopt it permanently moving forward as our new logo for Knit With Attitude!
As an added thanks to you all for being part of our journey these last 13 years, George has taken Aleks’ brilliant illustration and turned it into chart form for you to use it on any design you wish. Whether it be a cushion or a blanket, a jumper or a cardigan or even a cross stitch or needlepoint, the possibilities for how you can show you knit with attitude are endless – and we can’t wait to see them! We’ve made George’s chart a free pattern and you can download it from our website RIGHT HERE!
For those of you who didn’t get a chance to make it to the shop this weekend for our re-opening, we haven’t forgotten you! Our last surprise is that our website has had a makeover too and will be relaunching TOMORROW! All the wonderful new woolly gorgeousness will go live then - and to celebrate, we’ve got a giveaway happening with TWO great prizes: one of our exclusive Woolly Originals collaboration bags plus a London Underground embroidery kit from Hannah Bass Needlepoint. If you’d like a chance to win one of these fab prizes, just place an order on the new website of £30 or more before shipping between October 17th and 23rd and you’ll be automatically entered into the draw. Knit With Attitude ships worldwide so this giveaway is open to all. Please note however if you’re not a UK resident you will be responsible for any import taxes or duties if applicable where you are.
And last, but not least, huge thanks again to all of you. We absolutely could not do this without you!
