    ReLOVE Alpaca

Love Fest Fibers partner with a family-run mill in Washington State where a happy herd of Huacaya alpaca share their softest fiber for their ReLove yarn. ReLove Alpaca is made from 100% undyed alpaca sourced from a herd that grazes just steps away from the mill spun together with recycled plastic water bottle fiber to create this exclusive lightweight giant yarn.

Yup, that's right: super fine, super soft fiber made out of rPET, or recycled plastic bottles. Why rPET fiber you may ask? The people behind Love Fest Fibers really dislike plastic and that's exactly why we use it. Recent statistics show that a ridiculous 91% of the plastics consumed in America end up in landfills (not to mention the ocean). That is millions of tonnes of plastic that could be put to far better use. Each 50-yard ball of ReLove Merino rescues and reuses some 10 plastic bottles. Just think, the blanket you knit from 4 bumps of 50-yard ReLove Alpaca contains 40 recycled plastic bottles.

    Tough Love

To create the Tough Love yarn, Love Fest Fibers partner with a workshop in Kathmandu where an incredible group of 40 women skilled in the craft of felt-making create this super chunky hardwearing yarn. Using water, soap and a whole lot of muscle power, they transform New Zealand wool into yard after yard of hearty felt yarn. The full line is dyed locally in Kathmandu to create the ever-expanding range of vibrant colors. This yarn seeks to create consistent income for the Love Fest Fibers' team in Kathmandu after the devastating earthquakes of 2015 and the country's ongoing fuel crisis.
