Over the course of three weeks we will cover stranded knitting (colourwork), knitting in the round, thumb gusset, left- and right-leaning increases and decreases, continental knitting, the old Norwegian cast-on, and magic loop (the latter three are optional), by knitting a classic Norwegian Selbu mitten. Only basic knitting knowledge is required to partake in this course, but it is also suitable for more advanced knitters.

All three classes will be taught by London-based Norwegian knitter, PhD-student, lecturer and tutor Eli "Ellie" Leistad, who specialises on Norwegian mittens and colourwork in general.

Supplies available in the shop for a 10% discount: - 2 x 50g skeins of Excelana DK of different colours (or equivalent DK yarn of your choice) - 1 x 80cm circular needle (or DPNs) of a size to achieve a 24 stitches per 10 cm gauge (generally 3-4.5mm)
